    It is an honor to present the second issue of the Journal of Agri-Food Sciences and Biotechnology, a space dedicated to disseminating innovative research and developments in agri-food and biotechnology. This issue reaffirms our commitment to be a forum for academic and scientific exchange, where professionals, researchers, and students can share their findings and advances that drive knowledge and technology in these vital fields.

    In this issue, we are pleased to include a variety of articles that address current and relevant topics, from new biotechnological techniques applied to crop improvement to studies on sustainability and food safety. The papers presented reflect the scientific rigor and creativity of their authors and the diversity of approaches and perspectives that enrich our understanding of the challenges and opportunities in agri-food science and biotechnology.

    We are deeply grateful to the authors for their valuable contributions, to the reviewers for their dedication and effort in ensuring the quality of the content, and to our readers for their continued support and interest in our publication. We hope that the articles included in this issue will not only inform but also inspire new research and collaborations that will continue to advance these crucial fields.

    The Faculty of Agronomy of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León is pleased to present the first issue of Volume 2 of the Revista de Ciencias Agroalimentarias y Biotecnología. In this edition, we make available to the public a selection of popular science articles that address relevant topics in the agri-food and biotechnology sectors. Among the topics covered are the use of biological control as a sustainable tool for the management of agricultural pests, as well as the significance of the TIF seal in guaranteeing hygiene and safety in Mexico's food industry. A historical analysis of water management and preservation, from ancient civilizations to modern systems, is also presented.

    Other articles highlight the biotechnology revolution with the birth of Dolly, the cloned sheep, and gene editing in humans, including the case of HIV-immune twins and recent innovations in primates such as ANDi. Finally, advances in the fight against dengue and current strategies to mitigate its impact are presented. We invite the general public, as well as students, academics and researchers, to consult this issue. Scientific dissemination is key to understanding the challenges and opportunities in the agri-food and biotechnology sectors.
